Most agents looking for an Abu Dhabi DMC are selling the city as part of a UAE trip: a day out of Dubai to the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, or two or three nights after Dubai for Yas Island, the Saadiyat museums and Al Ain. Travel DMC Group is a Singapore-based DMC that sells only to the trade. We arrange Abu Dhabi hotels, transfers, Grand Mosque visits, attraction tickets, licensed guides and MICE logistics through local suppliers, quoted on net rates.
Abu Dhabi looks simple from Dubai, which is why it goes wrong. The Grand Mosque now charges entry, must be booked ahead and closes to visitors over Friday prayers. Guides at the sites need an Abu Dhabi licence. The Louvre shuts on Mondays. We build the day sheet around those rules, with one costed quote and one operations contact.
Three ways to sell Abu Dhabi
The Grand Mosque day
Dubai→Grand Mosque→Qasr Al Watan or the Louvre→Dubai
About three hours is road time, so add one site after the mosque, not three. On Fridays, go early or after 2:30pm. Keep the Louvre off Mondays.
Suits FIT and groups based in Dubai.
Culture and Yas Island
Dubai 3N→Abu Dhabi 2N→Fly home from AUH
The Grand Mosque stands by the bridges onto Abu Dhabi island, so visit it on the transfer from Dubai. Day two is Yas Island or Saadiyat. An open-jaw ticket home from AUH saves the drive back.
Suits families and first-time UAE groups.
Saadiyat and Al Ain
City→Saadiyat museums→Al Ain
A day in the Saadiyat Cultural District, then a full day in Al Ain, about 90 minutes inland, for the UNESCO-listed oasis and Jebel Hafit.
Suits repeat visitors and incentive groups.
Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque: the rules for groups
| Topic | The Centre’s rule | What it means for your group |
|---|---|---|
| Booking | Visits are pre-booked. A group visit is not confirmed unless booked in advance | No walk-up group visits. Tell us early if pax change |
| Entry fee | AED 10 for visitors from outside the UAE, AED 8 through a tour operator, AED 5 for Emirates ID holders | Build it into the per-person tour cost |
| Hours | Saturday to Thursday 9am to 8:30pm. Friday 9am to 11:30am and 2:30pm to 8:30pm. Last entry 30 minutes before closing. In Ramadan, daytime visits end at 6pm | A Friday day trip from Dubai needs an early start or a late visit |
| Dress | Women: loose, ankle-length clothes, sleeves to the wrist, hair covered. Men: legs covered, nothing sleeveless or tight | The operator answers for compliance. Brief it at booking, not on the coach |
| Escort | The tour operator assigns at least one person to stay with the group, accountable for its conduct | The ground handler’s escort stays for the whole visit |
| Not allowed in | Food, e-cigarettes, lighters, dolls and soft toys, flags | Soft toys catch families out. They stay on the coach |
The Centre no longer lends abayas: a guest in the wrong clothes buys a cover-up on site or misses the visit. It can also cancel visits without notice, so we schedule the mosque early, leaving time to rebook.
Transfers and journey times
| Leg | How | Time | What to plan for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Zayed International Airport to hotel | Private car, van or coach | About 15 minutes to Yas Island | Renamed from Abu Dhabi International in 2024. Every airline uses Terminal A |
| Dubai to Abu Dhabi by road | Coach or private car | DCT says just over an hour. From central Dubai we allow 1.5 | More at peak times. Fit the Grand Mosque into the transfer |
| Dubai to Abu Dhabi by train | Etihad Rail, since 30 September 2026 | Check the timetable | Stations at Al Yalayis (Dubai) and Mohamed Bin Zayed City, so groups with bags need vehicles at each end |
| Central Abu Dhabi to Yas Island | Coach or car | About 30 minutes | For a park-heavy trip, a Yas hotel saves the drive twice a day |
| Abu Dhabi to Al Ain | Coach or car | About 90 minutes | A full day. In the hot months, do the oasis in the morning |

Before you quote the sights
One rule covers them all. Under DCT Abu Dhabi Circular 6/2023, tour operators may use only DCT-licensed guides, and “silent guiding”, where a licensed guide stands by while someone unlicensed talks, is banned. A tour leader from home can escort the group, but the commentary comes from the licensed local guide.
The Saadiyat Cultural District now fills a day: Louvre Abu Dhabi, the Zayed National Museum (open since December 2025), the Natural History Museum Abu Dhabi and teamLab Phenomena, with Guggenheim Abu Dhabi opening on 11 December 2026. The Louvre is closed on Mondays and free for under-18s.
Qasr Al Watan, the presidential palace, sells dated tickets with no refunds and no re-entry. Knees and shoulders must be covered. There are no lockers and large bags are refused, so on a hotel-change day the luggage stays in the vehicle.
Yas Island has four theme parks: Ferrari World, Warner Bros. World, SeaWorld and Yas Waterworld. Warner Bros. World is entirely indoors and air-conditioned, the summer fallback.
Hotel fees on an Abu Dhabi bill
Abu Dhabi has no flat per-night charge like Dubai’s Tourism Dirham; its AED 15 per room per night fee was scrapped in September 2023. Hotels add a 4% tourism fee and a 4% municipality fee, then 5% VAT and their own service charge. When comparing hotel quotes, check which of these are in the rate: fees and VAT alone add at least 13%.

When to sell it
October to March is the comfortable season, with DCT giving 18°C to 28°C. From May to September days reach about 40°C, so outdoor sightseeing moves to early morning and late afternoon and the indoor attractions carry the programme. Check group dates against the ADNEC and Yas Marina event calendars before quoting. The 2026 Formula 1 race weekend at Yas Marina, for one, is 4 to 6 December.
Frequently Asked Questions
Where is your team based?
In Singapore. In Abu Dhabi we book local suppliers for vehicles and guiding. DCT Abu Dhabi’s rules apply to them: guides at Abu Dhabi sites must hold a valid DCT licence.
Can you quote Dubai and Abu Dhabi as one trip?
Yes, as one programme with one operations contact. Send the nights in each city and the flights, and we will time the intercity transfer around them.
Do travellers need a visa for Abu Dhabi?
It depends on the passport. GCC citizens need no visa, several nationalities get one on arrival, and others apply before travel. Indian passport holders, for example, qualify for a 14-day visa only with a valid US visa or green card, a UK or EU visa or residence permit, or a residence permit from one of six other countries, Singapore among them. Passports need six months’ validity from entry.
Can a group take the train from Dubai?
Yes, since 30 September 2026, but with luggage a coach door to door is usually simpler. For FIT travelling light, the train is worth quoting.
